Ignition Developer- SCADA (Dallas, Tx)



TIGA is an operational technology systems integrator based in The Woodlands, Lafayette, Dallas and Denver. We believe that systems integration is a fundamental component to leveraging new and well-established technologies against operational problems that exists within the Upstream, Midstream and Downstream Oil and Gas Sector. Our objective is to be a trusted service provider capable of integrating our clients Control Systems, Industrial Networks, SCADA Systems, Decision Support Systems and integrating the Real-Time and Custody Transfer Data into the Enterprise.

TIGA’s core service offerings are:



    • Candidate should be able to design, implement and validate an Ignition SCADA systems
    • Candidate should have experience with integrating devices within Kepware and/or Autosol Communication Manager.
    • Be proficient in Python scripting and development best practices within the Ignition SCADA environment.
    • Be able to build SCADA system user interfaces and understand best design practices for high performance objects.
    • Be able to perform scripting for enhanced functionality within the Ignition HMI.
    • Be able to design and implement best practices for relational database to contain Ignition meta-data and hierarchical data relationships.
    • Candidate should understand and have experience with integrating SCADA systems for the following but not limited to:
    • Experience with collecting monthly Flow Volume information from several types of EFMs
    • Experience with exporting SCADA data into standard formats such as .CSV on an automated and scheduled interval.
    • Experience with exporting SCADA data from OPC collection engines to CFX for volume reporting.
    • Experience and understanding of communication infrastructure and protocols.
    • Experience with configuring and integrating OPC polling engines with best practices to optimize successful polling percentages.
    • Experience with scheduling data polls with best practices to optimize successful polling percentages.
    • Experience with working within a team environment to collectively work together to provide solutions to the SCADA end users.
    • Ability to provide customer-focused integration services with a high quality of work and standards.
    • Understand project management processes such as SCRUM.
    • Understand line out processes and procedures.
    • Able to communicate timelines, level of effort and deliverables in a clear concise way internally and externally

Basic Skills/Qualifications:


  • Strong understanding of Gas and Liquid flow, Heat Transfer, and Hydraulics
  • Strong understanding of control theory as applied to digital onshore automated systems
  • Able to identify and analyze problems and identify solutions with little or no information from client
  • Strong understanding of SCADA and PLC programming practices and standards
  • Experience in instrumentation and control systems
  • Experience in the specification of industrial controls and I/O hardware
  • Familiarity with PLC and HMI applications from start to finish
  • Experience in bulk or liquid material handling, natural gas, oil and gas, or power industries
  • Experience with planning and executing Factory and Software Acceptance testing
  • Experience with on-site commissioning, including hardware set-up and network set-up
  • Experience with securing Critical Infrastructure in and around SCADA and Control Systems

Minimum Requirements: Experience, Educational & Special Training


  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Oil and Gas industry performing as lead or having a senior role in deployment of SCADA systems. Must have experience with some or all of the following: CygNet SCADA, Ignition SCADA, Rockwell ME\SE, GE IFIX, Wonderware System Platform, Wonder ware Intouch, Clear SCADA, Telvent. Experience will be considered in lieu of degree/education requirements.
  • Engineering Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Computer) or Computer Science Degree Strongly Preferred
  • Must be a detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving, technical, and functional skills with the ability to multi-task and be willing to learn.
  • Must be able to take direction, work well in a team environment, and interact with all levels of management, engineering, systems, operations and field personnel.


Work conditions:

  • Position will primarily work in a typical office environment but is expected to travel to project sites occasionally. Subject to time pressures and constraints, and is also dependent on input from others.
  • Subject to a background check, as well as drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations.
