Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, desktops, software, and hardware
  • Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative
  • Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems
  • Enable faster and smarter business processes and implement analytics for meaningful insights
  • Nurture dependable IT infrastructure that’s always up and running
  • Partner with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements
  • Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly
  • Monitor systems health by using management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers and desktops as needed
  • Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including, desktop computers, servers, SANs, NASs; including virtual machines both on-prem and hosted in Azure
  • Interact with other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed
  • Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups
  • Assist with building technical documentation, diagrams, manuals and IT policies

 

 

Minimum Requirements: Experience, Educational & Special Training

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, computer science or equivalent. Experience will be considered in lieu of degree/education
  • Five or more years of experience with
  • Experience with or knowledge of programming languages and operating systems; current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, system performance-monitoring tools, active directories, DNS, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching
  • Experience in project management, scripting, integration, and cloud computing (specifically Microsoft Azure)
  • Expertise in creating, analyzing, maintaining, and repairing large-scale distributed systems
  • Creating volumes, assigning to servers and remote replication a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook).
  • Must be a detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and excellent communication (written and oral)
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, technical, and functional skills with the ability to multi-task and be willing to
  • Must be able to work collaboratively and cooperatively, take direction, work well in a team environment, and interact with all levels of management, engineering, systems, operations and field

Work conditions:

 

  • Position will primarily work in a typical office environment but is expected to travel to project sites occasionally. Subject to time pressures and constraints and is also dependent on input from
